CARFAC is the national membership association for visual artists. We represent professional artists of all ages and stages of their artistic careers, living from coast to coast to coast. We believe that artists, like professionals in other fields, should be paid fairly for their work. We educate the visual arts community about artists’ economic and legal rights, and we offer professional development opportunities through conferences, workshops, and publications. Job description:
- Answering routine questions from artists and cultural workers, and processing membership sales and requests;
- Implement plans to increase the profile of CARFAC with current and potential members;
- Design images and infographics used to promote CARFAC campaigns, events, and services;
- Distribution of news to CARFAC members, through e-bulletins and social media;
- Coordination of professional development training for artists; and
- Assist with scheduling, organization, and publicity of webinars, meetings, and events.
Qualifications
Applicants will have a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in fine arts or arts administration. Alternatively, related fields of education and experience will also be considered. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong written, oral, and digital communications skills, including familiarity with social media and other digital technologies in a professional environment. Experience with design software and database programs is required. Applicants will have strong organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Assets
Although not required, any of the following skills are considered useful for the position:
working with, or as, a visual or media artist; ability to communicate effectively in English and French; ability and experience working with a team across several time zones; and coordinating events and public programs.
