Manager, Membership Development

CMA is seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated person to take a lead role in the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Ongoing maintenance, development and promotion of the CMA member benefits and services
  • Development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of strategies, programs and other initiatives to grow and retain the CMA membership
  • Member recruitment, processes annual renewals and general member administration and services
  • Participates in Senior Management meetings, and other meetings as required.
  • Conducts research and produces reports for various stakeholders
  • Participates in the development and the delivery of revenue generating activities and events including annual and special conferences

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in delivering high quality member services at a national level, preferably in a non-profit association
  • Experience wiith managing registrations for conferences
  • Experience with staff supervision
  • High degree of proficiency in data processing, preferably using a membership database
  • High degree of proficiency using current technologies such as MS Office, Internet etc.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with members, Senior Management, staff and members of the Boards of Directors
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small professional team
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written in French and English
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or administration and/or equivalent experience
  • Some knowledge of financial accounting principles would be desirable

The ideal candidate will be an innovative, creative, self-starter with the ability to think outside the box.

The CMA offers a flexible work environment and a at benefit package with a salary range of $42,000 to $52,000.

The membership includes nearly 2,000 members from non-profit museums, art galleries, science centres, aquaria, archives, sport halls-of-fame, artist-run centres, zoos and historic sites across Canada. They range from large metropolitan galleries to small community museums. The CMA provides professional development programs, networking opportunities, and a body of knowledge to its members.
