La Troupe du Jour (www.latroupedujour.ca), professional, francophone theatre company, based in Saskatoon, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager. For 30 years, the company has devoted itself to developing francophone theatre in Saskatchewan through creation, training courses, production and distribution (provincial and cross-Canadian tours). The creation and development of a Western Canadian original dramaturgy is the corner stone of its mandate. Over the course of the years it has earned a number of awards and recognition for the artistic quality of its productions.
Roles and responsibilities
Under the management of the Administrative Director, as well as, the Artistic and General Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager will:
- Promote the 2015-2016 theatre season;
- Write bilingual content for a monthly newsletter and coordinating its dissemination on different electronic platforms;
- Coordinate the conception and completion of communication supports, print and multimedia;
- Ensure brand compliance and quality control for all communications products;
- Ensure coordination of all stages of production of promotional materials, including editing/translation, layout and distribution;
- Develop strategies to increase visibility and enhance company's reputation on social media and to maximize search engine optimization;
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of French-English bilingual website content and SEO;
- Develop new audiences and retaining subscribers;
- Manage overall communications and marketing budgets, including ad bookings in different media;
- Build and maintain relationships with Francophone and Anglophone media;
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors and other financial partners;
- Recruit, managing and training foreign interns in marketing from European business schools;
- Prepare numerous applications for private and public funding;
- Negotiate the sale of ad space in programs and season brochures;
- Plan and overseeing media and public relations activities;
- Design and manage targeted data bases and lists of contacts;
- Develop various audience surveys and producing statistical analyses and reports;
- Generate and maintain various targeted national media lists;
- Represent the company at various public events, festivals, professional fairs, etc.;
- Assist in the promotion of rentable spaces in the building;
- Assist the Administrative Director in the recruitment process for the international interns.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in either Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other related studies;
- Previous experience in Marketing, Communication or Public Relations;
- Be familiar with e-marketing and social media;
- Have high-quality writing skills in both French and English;
- Have at heart the vitality of the French language in a linguistic minority, and be inclined to participate in various activities and events of the Fransaskois and artistic community of Saskatoon;
- Have a passion for theatre and the performing arts;
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites and able to work in a Mac environment;
- Be familiar with Wordpress.
Salary and Conditions
- One year contract with possibility of renewal
- 35 hours per week
- Annual salary between $38,000 and $40,000 includes benefits (Based of level of experience)
